Selecting and customizing your character is the very first thing you’ll do in Animal Jam, and you can select different eyes, animal markings and colors for your creature.  Players will also need to give their animals a silly three-part name by selecting from a number of different words.

When you first start playing Animal Jam, everything is both narrated and presented in text form, but once the game begins instructions and details are presented as text only, so good reading skills are a requirement.  Moving is as simple as pointing where you want to go and clicking and animal will go there.
